You (well your parents most likely) are legally responsible for providing medical care for your pet. if your family honestly can not afford the time or money to get this cat some help, then please do the humane thing and turn it in to an animal shelter who will get it the treatment it deserves. Cats are very aware when their days are numbered. I would not let him suffer or make him take meds that would do him no good. I had him put to sleep so that he was with us and we were able to say goodbye. I had him cremated and his remains are in a little cedar box on the window sill he liked to sun himself. Take care of her very well...give her those extra treats...even baby food..which is better for her anyways, let her sleep on a heated blanket or pillow and just make great memories of her. Don't get mad at her for the stupid little bad things she may do, enjoy them because all of these things is why you love your cat. It is sad when a family member dies but be happy that she is going to a better place... have you heard that joke going around about the cat that went to heaven? An old farm cat went to heaven, God was sitting...waiting for this cat...and He says "Cat, you have been a very good farm cat all of your life, what would you like as your reward?" the cat says," Well God, as a farm cat I had to lay on the hard cold ground to sleep so I would like a big warm soft pillow to lay on forever!" A while later there was a very bad accident on a farm that including 6 mice...the 6 mice went to heaven where they found God waiting for them...God says, "You have been very good mice all of your lives, what would you like as a reward?" The mice think a while and say to God, "We have been running all of our lives, running to get food, running to get water, and running from the farmer's cat....we would like skates so that we never have to run on our tired feet again." God says it shall be done. Not much can be done if you cant take it to the vet for some meds. My kitty has them too. I do have to admit that a sneezing kitty is kinda funny to see!
