I just found my cat snifing a worm-like creature which looked more like a baby catepillar and im not sure what to look for. I dont know if this littlebug came from outside or my cat. My cat’s are stricly indoor cats and im not sure whats going on. I plan to take him to the vet but i want to make sure before i go.
It is not a tape worm. Tape worms look like little rice like segments that are usually hanging around the back end of a cat. Most likely the caterpillar worm got in your house and you cat just got curious. There are only a few intestinal parasites (worms) that you can see.

My friend took his cat to the vet yesterday and the cat was treated for worms. Is it safe to take my dog over to his house? I guess I'm more concerned about my dog catching worms from the couch where his cat has laid (is that possible?) since the cat is now quarantined in its' own room.
As long as your dog doesn't go rummaging through the cats little box, your dog should be alright. Hey…you sit on the couch too, right?

finally found a way to enclose the cat box so he can't get in there for a snack,but I know he has been in the box before. He has been feeling "off" yesterday and today, just wondering if he might have gotten worms from kitties poop. I did get wormer from vet today and got him started on it. Kitty too.
if the cat has worms.. then yes he could get worms from the cat.
I did recently read something about clumping cat litter tho, that has been passed around on some forums…
A list friend of mine just lost her Irish Wolfhound because he ate some cat
litter, the clumping kind. He suddenly got depressed and wouldn't eat or
drink. He got weaker and sicker within a couple of hours. She rushed him to ER
and he was so dehydrated they were surprised he was alive. They did tests,
started fluids; his white blood count was 27,000. Just to be on the safe
side, he was started on rocephin…next day, still dehydrated, wbc 19,000 but he
was so still so weak…more testing … XRAYS, full body….more scratching
heads….then a clue…he passed some "kitty litter"…The dog had been
ingesting kitty litter…the clumping kind and it was pulling all the fluids out
of his body. The cat boxes are covered ones, but Myst was getting to the
kitty roccas by putting his head in the small hole, plus he must have been
licking the litter out of the box. His owner even had the litter box in a
separate room where she thought that Myst had no access.
The vets were unable to save him. Here is a link about cat litter.

If a small amount of cat litter can kill a grown Irish Wolfhound it could be
very fatal for our small dogs and cats as well.
This is not an urban legend. My friend is devastated.,
